Our laboratory testing and pathology specialists are a crucial part of the healthcare services we know today. Approximately 70% of medical decisions and 100% of cancer diagnosis rely on pathology and laboratory tests. As well as playing that role for the last 60 years, APHG laboratories were critical in Aotearoa’s COVID-19 testing and surveillance programmes. During the pandemic we were delivering around 40% of all COVID-19 testing in the country, the largest of any single service provider.

We are also a leading provider of veterinary pathology services nationwide, with a growing presence in the food and water testing sector.
